Late Summer or Fall Activity

Robert Charles Wilson’s Axis
Friday, June 27th, 2008I just finished reading Axis by Robert Charles Wilson. This is a pretty good review that I agree with.
It’s a sequel to Spin, which was surprisingly complex and exciting. Wikipedia tells me there’s another sequel to be published, perhaps Axis suffers slightly from being a semi-detached “middle book of a trilogy” – those often have trouble. However, I find it’s a bit of a sleeper that is deeply satisfying in the longer run, which is a nice surprise.
(I’m cutting this here because my other thoughts are a bit spoilery, perhaps, so don’t click through if you don’t want to know anything more about the book.)
Thinking Out Loud

hahaha
Why not a bakery/coffeeshop/pub? Basically a pub that does pastries & coffee? Get your morning fix, come back to hang out in the evening? Alex can bake fresh stuff at night and us morning people will take care of the rest, haha.
Wouldn’t work in Manhattan but maybe Brooklyn? Definitely would work somewhere else.
Call it “The Baker’s Armpit” … umm, don’t ask me where that came from.
Things to think about: Health insurance. Taxes. Sanitation. Interior design. I know someone with a great taste for the latter. Hmm…
