You know, it’s funny. Every once in a while I get sucked into reading that craigslist missed connections section for a few days. It really is like a little reality show. I even think of making stuff up for it once in a while… but never post any of my ideas because, well, what’s the point? I’ll never see my audience enjoy it, for starters! Let alone get paid for it, ha ha.

Luckily, just like a reality show, it’s mostly full of trashy drama, and thus also gets boring rather quickly.

Interesting how many people seem to all have the same damn problems, over and over again. I read posts I can tell are meant for someone else, but they read like people in my own life. And to someone thinking of writing fiction, you begin to realize you don’t have to be all that original. When you think about it, we read the same books, the same movies, over and over again, just the names & places & authors & titles are shuffled around. They’re still interesting, because they mirror our own problems.

It starts to make one feel more confident that coming up with something incredibly unique isn’t so important.
