Doing is Being is Doing
Related to the last post, once in the dim dark past I wanted to be a writer. I wrote poems and got encouragement from english teachers. I thought I was great until I realized I wasn’t.
But the point is I love Ray Bradbury. I’ve barely ready any of his writing, statistically speaking. But the being/doing stuff comes from him. Here’s a post on someone’s blog with a bunch of awesome stuff Bradbury wrote.
Growing up, I learned to play piano. I was never very good.
In middle and high school, I played the drums. I gave it a good go. I haven’t done it in a while, and I miss it. I would like to play drums again soon. Blues or jazz would be ideal, though strangely I barely listen to those genres day-to-day.
The worst part about drums is the practicing. It’s necessary, and nobody likes it. I guess in some ways that goes for any musical instrument. Noise makes a social pariah.
