The Airfare Site I Always Wanted
Thank goodness (again) for the Polyamory Weekly podcast and last week’s Geeks in Love show; without it I’d probably never have heard of Farecast.
This site not only finds you the cheapest airfares, it tells you whether you’re better off buying at the carrier’s website or another website, and it predicts whether the price will rise or drop, to about 75% accuracy, so you know whether to buy now or wait! And I love the dials for setting a range for when you’d like to depart or arrive; much better than other websites’ select boxes that make you reload the page for every little change. You can really get an instant feel for your options this way.
But wait! That’s not all!
You can also set up email alerts for low fares for a trip you’re thinking about, and find deals for flights from your city. For example, the Deals from New York page I saw listed some “top deals,” “record lows,” “last minute flight deals” and deals for weekend trips and weeklong trips. All good stuff if you’ve got a sudden travel bug … or, and this is why it was in the PolyWeekly podcast, if you have a long distance sweety! ![]()
