But everyone isn’t like you. They won’t ever be like you. They’re like they are, and you have to deal with that. Concentrate on your goals and work with what you have.

You gotta have an egg before you can have a chicken. Whence come an egg? An accident of DNA. From where can a progressive future come? Progressive policies. You can’t rationally try to force a progressive society into existence so that they will enact progressive policies. It’s utterly illogical. If you could force a progressive society into existence, they wouldn’t need progressive policies. If a chicken could make more of itself without eggs, there’d be no need for eggs and chickens would be everywhere.
