Grandstanding Defined

Along those lines, Glenn at The Oil Drum NYC points out the schism betwen political image and political reality (repeated in this comment on a main page post).

Seriously. Hastert sneaked off to an SUV from his gas price event? Schumer drove a block to his? I remember growing up when our dog would crap in the house or chew something up we would thwap it on the nose and loudly say “NO!” Why do I have the desire to do the same thing to these men?

I mean, really.

This is exactly what The Oil Drum’s press release was about. I cut Democrats some slack, personally, on their policy proposals, since they’re the minority party and have certain political realities to deal with there, but Schumer’s behavior here is inexcusable. Walking is so difficult, is it? Take a stroll through your lovely city next time, ok?
