One more thing. The best feature of tonight’s CB8 meeting was the rich guy (well, richer than me anyway) who complained, amongst other things, about Jessica Lappin and the “community activists” (spoken with an audible sneer) she was working with. He complained that he wasn’t told about the greenmarket initiative that would affect him since he lived across the street from where it would go, and that his council representative, Dan Garodnick, did not have a functional website. Jessica Lappin’s website proclaimed that she was working with these horrible, despicable “community activists” to support greenmarkets.

Dude. If your own council representative’s website doesn’t work, maybe you should complain to him. If a neighboring council rep is keeping her community relatively informed, and working with people from her community to bring them things they want, maybe you should envy them rather then complain.

Basically, don’t mess with Jessica Lappin, she’s my hero of the moment.
