NYC Government Information
I can’t believe it took me so long to discover Gotham Gazette. I read them prior to yesterday’s election because they had excellent information about the various candidates, proposals and issues.
But I think I’ll keep reading them for their summaries of city council meetings alone, if not also for various analyses and other articles. I’ve been wondering where an everyday schlepper like me could go for basic information on what the city’s elected officials are up to, and this seems as good a place as any to stay informed without undue effort.
Now all I need is the same thing for the state. And then also state/local Democratic/liberal blogs/online communities.
Any recommendations?
Also on my mind: if Democrats could only figure out a way to change voter turnout, the dynamics of the city might change drastically in their favor. Or, failing that, at least if the city could figure out a way to change it, the dynamics of the city might change drastically for the better. Not that I have any ideas.
