Really, if the Christians concerned about the Christmas being taken out of Christmas want to do something about it, they’re very welcome to join us liberal secularists in railing against the corporate commercialism of the holiday. We’ve been going on about this sort of thing for years.

But hey, if the greenback religion ends up prevailing in taking over Christmas as it’s own annual celebration, it’s only just desserts, since Christmas itself is only a few centuries old, the result of the Church taking over the older, pagan celebrations of the Winter Solstice.

So once again, before we forget: Peace on earth, goodwill to everyone. My favorite part of this time of year.
