It had to happen. People are so desperate for free stuff, they’ll construct organized “conga lines” to make it easier. It’s not a bad idea, really — at the very least it removes some of the desire to go bugging your friends to sign up with marketers. Just have patience and maybe enough people who want to do it in the first place will sign up of their own free will. Or maybe not… I’d better go spam my friends now.

No matter what, there will still be a wide layer of people at the bottom who have no willing friends who haven’t already signed up and who will therefore not be able to get a free anything. But, I went ahead and signed up anyway. If I can help someone else obtain a free photo iPod, I will have done my patriotic American duty.
